At Bright Young Smiles, we are proud to offer CEREC, the latest in single visit dental technology. Cerec is a breakthrough computerized 3D system that allows us to create custom dental crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and bridges right in our office. By using this advanced technology, we can give you custom, perfectly matched and perfectly fitted crowns, veneers and porcelain fillings all during a single dental visit!
During this time, you have the ability to relax, watch TV, or even run a quick errand if you wish. Your crown is designed by our skilled team of doctors and technicians using the advanced CEREC software where it will be processed and transmitted to our milling chamber where your restoration will be created from a single piece of ceramic or porcelain.
After milling, like a small work of art, we hand glaze and color the restoration to match your natural teeth. The result is an extremely esthetic replacement tooth that is strong and long lasting.
Once the crown or restoration is complete, it will be permanently bonded to your tooth and your treatment is complete.
The average treatment time from start to finish lasts about two hours, and you will walk out the door with your permanent dental crown all in one visit.
If your teeth sustain damage either from trauma, decay, wear or fracture, a dental crown can save your tooth, provide protection, and eliminate pain or sensitivity common with damaged teeth.
Each custom crown created in our office is designed to blend in perfectly with your smile while providing long-term durability. By opting for a dental crown, you are making a great choice for protecting the beauty and function of your smile.
Defective or unsightly “fillings” can be replaced by tooth-colored inlays and bonded to the tooth. This bonding process can actually improve the strength of the tooth and is a conservative long-term solution to dental cavities as the porcelain material is much more resistant to tooth decay than composite tooth colored fillings.
Onlays also fit inside the tooth, but extend onto the chewing surface of a back tooth to replace one or more cusps. In the past, onlays were made only of gold, but like inlays, more and more patients request a tooth-colored onlay. Onlays are completed in a single visit and are custom designed for your tooth using our Cerec CAD/CAM technology and in-office dental laboratory. Making the onlay of ceramic/porcelain allows the restoration to be bonded to the tooth. This bonding process may actually improve the strength of the tooth and help seal the onlay to the tooth.
